MtMap displays the mountain map in real-time, hardware accelerated 3D.

Currently they have to rely on ski maps that have one big disadvantage: they are 2D. If you think about drawing a ski resort that is on a hill and has runs on each side of the hill, it gets really difficult to produce a 2D map that can be easily read.

The application MtMap overcomes those limitations by offering an 3D ski resort map. Based on real elevation data, the representation is highly accurate and easy to create. With the corresponding desktop application, any elevation data is enriched with lift and run locations and is compressed to one file. This file is copied on the S60 mobile phone and includes everything for MtMap to create a 3D ski resort right on the user's mobile phone.

With enabled GPS — whether built-in or connected via bluetooth — the application is able to set the location accordingly and to display the current surrounding of the user.

MtMap enables the user to virtually explore a ski resort. Furthermore it gives him the information where he is and what his options are at any time.

Quick Facts

The 3D maps are augmented with visual representations of ski huts, lifts and tracks — colored in their difficulty levels.
